NESTLE TESTS BISTRO-STYLE FROZEN ENTREES

Nestle Canada of Toronto recently began testing a line of frozen entrees in selected supermarkets across Canada. Called Stouffer's A La Carte Menu Selections, there are 30 different entrees in the line ranging from side dishes to complete dinners. The products are being promoted using point-of-purchase materials created by Russell Inc. of Toronto. The agency designed an in-store shopping area for the brand, complete with a point-of-purchase display case that offers recipe and garnishing ideas, as well as recipe cards showing photographs of different entrees. Russell also designed the packaging for the line, which uses elements reminiscent of a bistro. The package features a chalkboard script logo, a color coding system, photographs and textured backgrounds. The color coding system lets customers choose which entrees would make a good meal together.
