SEAGRAM GETS INTERACTIVE WITH ITS ADS
By Adnews Staff
Seagram Canada of Montreal launched an interactive ad for its Absolut Vodka brand of liquor. Launched earlier this month in Sympatico's NetLife home Internet magazine, the ad targets computer enthusiasts. It features an Absolut Vodka bottle composed of HTML code characters on a computer screen background. Upon closer inspection, readers will realize that the code provided has been designed to be cracked. If done correctly a message will appear leading the participant to a Web page where they may enter a contest to be eligible to win an Absolut T-shirt. The ad was created by Netlife for Seagram's agency, Sharpe Blackmore Inc. of Toronto. Seagram Canada imports and distributes Absolut Vodka in Canada. The Absolut Company of Stockholm, Sweden owns the brand.
