By Adnews Staff
Henry Birks & Sons of Montreal has handed its $5 million account to Mamone & Partners of Toronto. The agency won the business after a competition with TAXI Advertising & Design of Toronto, as well as Cossette Communication-Marketing and Marketel, both of Montreal. The incumbent on the business was O'Rourke Communications of Toronto. Mamone will launch its first campaign for Birks in October using newspaper and billboard ads. Birks has also made some changes in the marketing department. Diane Oliver has joined the jewelry chain as marketing vice-president. Most recently she held the same position at Chanel Canada. Joseph Keifer is now at Birks as merchandising vice-president. Previously he worked at Montgomery Ward & Company of Chicago, where he held the position of merchandise manager and senior vice-president of the company's jewelry division. Birks is a jewelry and giftware retailer with 36 stores across Canada.
