@Home Canada of Toronto has expanded its offering of high-speed Internet services via cable operators. Cogeco Cable of Montreal has bought an 18% stake in the company to offer its Internet access service under the @Home banner. The cable company joins Rogers Cablesystems of Toronto and Shaw Communications of Calgary, who each hold 41% of @Home. @Home Canada was formed in the spring of 1997 and is a partnership between Rogers, Shaw and the @Home Network of California. @Home is responsible for the content and on-line marketing of the Canadian @Home network, and distributes @Home under license to other cable operators in Canada. Cogeco's Internet access service will now be known as Cogeco @Home. Until now, it was called WAVE. Advertising for Cogeco's Internet service is created by FCB Direct of Montreal.
