IBM EXPANDS APTIVA LINE

U.S.-based International Business Machines Corp. added a new machine to its Aptiva line up in North America earlier this month. Called the E85, the computer features arcade-level 3D graphics and sound, as well as ATT Rage Pro graphic accelerators. Speakers are included in every system unit and are designed to accommodate a subwoofer. Other features include a K56 Flex modem, a choice of Web browsers and trial subscriptions to Internet providers such as AOL Canada and iSTAR Internet, offering 90 free hours during the first three months. In Canada, the E85 will be incorporated into current national print ads running for the entire Aptiva line. Canadian advertising for IBM is handled by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto.
