RETAIL AWARDS PRESENTED

The Retail Council of Canada presented its Excellence in Retailing Awards this week. The Liquor Control Board of Ontario took top honors with two awards: one grand prize in the Innovative Retailer of the Year category for a large retailer and the award for staff development and motivation. Mountain Adventure Centre walked away with the Innovative Retailer of the Year award for a small retailer. Holt Renefrew & Company and Clearnet Communications took away awards in the Store Layout and Design category, while Goodyear Canada and the Stratford Festival were recognized in the Retail Marketing and Advertising category. Shoppers Drug Mart and Sanderman Home Hardware were presented with awards in the Socially Responsible Retailer category.
