DENTSU RECEIVES KEYS TO LEXUS ACCOUNT
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Dentsu-Cadence Canada Inc. has been given more business from Toyota Canada. The agency will be handling the $15 million Lexus Canada account, a division of Toyota. Dentsu-Cadence won the business this week after handling a project for Lexus, launching an ad campaign in April for the new Lexus luxury 4X4, the RX-300. It competed for the project with Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising of Toronto, which creates ads for Toyota cars. The incumbent on the Lexus business was SMW Advertising of Toronto (now Publicis*SMW). The agency was bought by Publicis Canada earlier this year and the car company decided to have an agency review as a result of that acquisition, Dentsu business development director John Wright told Adnews yesterday. Keith McDevitt has joined Dentsu as account director on the Lexus business. Previously he held the same position at SMW.
