EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS MADE AT NEW NEWSPAPER

Toronto-based Southam Inc. has made some senior executive appointments for its new national daily newspaper being launched in the fall. Gordon Fisher has been named assistant publisher. Most recently he was editorial vice-president for Southam. David Swail is the operations and planning vice-president. Previously he was business development director for Southam's newspaper group. Dennis Skulsky is now reader sales vice-president. Formerly he was corporate vice-president of Southam, as well as reader sales, service and marketing vice-president for two Southam newspapers: The Vancouver Sun and Vancouver Province. Pat Brennan has moved from the Ottawa Citizen where he was manufacturing vice-president to the same position at the yet-to-be-named newspaper.
