COCA-COLA PROMOTES SWEET ICED TEA

Toronto-based Coca-Cola Canada is promoting its Cool from Nestea brand of iced tea in its latest ad campaign in Western Canada. The campaign uses TV and sampling done by Leo Burnett Co. of Toronto. There are two TV ads in the campaign. One ad features a snowman that looks like a skeleton until it is restored to its fluffy whiteness after drinking Cool from Nestea. In the second spot, a pseudo police officer attempts to rescue victims from thirst and overheating before they spontaneously combust. Cool from Nestea was launched in Western Canada last summer. It is a lemon-flavored iced tea that is a little sweeter than regular iced tea. Cool from Nestea is geared to teenagers.

Separately, Coca-Cola has launched an outdoor campaign in Ontario to promote its Nestea brand of iced tea. There are three ads in the campaign that promote the physical and emotional refreshment associated with Nestea. In addition, the company is running an under-the-label contest where consumers will have a chance to win a trip for four to one of the world's great waterfalls in Mexico, Venezuela or Brazil. The campaign was created by Leo Burnett.
