By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Envoy Communications Group has bought Promanad Communications of Toronto and plans to merge the firm with its Toronto agency, The Communique Group. The deal is expected to close in mid-July and the newly merged company will be called The Communique Group. Communique president and CEO Geoff Genovese told Adnews that the move will strengthen the company and make it more competitive. Both agencies bill themselves as being fully integrated. Genovese will continue as CEO while Promanad president Ted Matthews will be named executive vice-president. The combined client list for the new agency will include: A&W Food Service Canada, Benjamin Moore Paints, Bridgestone/Firestone Canada, Budget Rent a Car Toronto, Honda Power Equipment, Japan Camera Center, Liquor Control Board of Ontario, Microsoft Canada, One of a Kind Craft Show, Toshiba of Canada, Toronto Transit Commission, United Distillers and Vintners.
