THE FAN DOES OK WITHOUT BASEBALL

Toronto radio station The Fan 590 is faring well without airing games of the Toronto Blue Jays. The station's evening audience of people aged 12 and older increased from 2.9% last fall to 3.2% this spring, according to the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement. The Fan's share of its target audience, men aged 25 to 54, increased from 5.1% to 6.7%. Until this baseball season, games of the Toronto Blue Jays were aired on The Fan. This season, they began airing on 1050 CHUM. and the radio station has a larger audience. CHUM's overall evening audience figures jumped from 1.7% to 2.1%. The figures cover the first two weeks of January, February, March and April.
