TSN SCORES EXCLUSIVE BROADCAST AGREEMENT
By Adnews Staff
It's a cold January evening, the year 2001. Because of the snow storms you're stuck in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. The only way to occupy yourself for the next few hours is watch TV. Well, if the place you're staying at gets TSN, and the Montreal Canadians are playing, you might be able to watch the game. Canada's first 24-hour sports channel signed a deal with the Montreal Canadians to broadcast a minimum of 20 games per season from next year, through the 2001/02 season. The deal will allow 2.1 million viewers in Eastern Canada to watch the Habs in action. TSN's coverage will be available throughout Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, PEI and in Ontario's northeast and Ottawa Valley area. The coverage will add to the 17 games each season TSN's sister station, RDS, already provides.
