By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Molson Breweries is sponsoring a series of 90-second vignettes on The Comedy Network. Called Canadian Sacrilege Moments, the cheeky series take a poke at some of Canada's historical events, parodying milestones such as Jacques Plante's introduction of the goalie mask. The Sacrilege Moment pays homage to "Jacques Strappe" and his innovative use of the most popular protective cup since Lord Stanley's . . . Additional clips spoof historical turning points such as the birth of our flag, Canada's first female physician, the invention of basketball, the Canadian bear that became Winnie the Pooh and the origin of our country's name. Molson will be mentioned as the sponsor at the beginning and end of each vignette. The Molson Canadian brand will be promoted in 30-second commercials following the vignette.
