For Canadians who might have been disappointed with who won Entertainer of the Year at this year's Juno's, satisfaction in knowing they're not alone may be on the way. Toronto-based Solutions Research Group Consultants and Chart Communications also based in Toronto have teamed up for a second year in a row to produce In The Name Of Cool, an annual consumer research product focusing on trend information of Canadian's music preferences. The booklet will also detail what consumers attitudes towards music, entertainment and related technologies are. The data for In The Name Of Cool was collected during the month of April, 1998 via telephone interviews with 1,214 Canadians all over the age of 15. Topics such as: Who is Canadian's favorite artist or group, ownership and use of music technologies - including DVD knowledge and interest - who buys music, how much and where and attitudes towards live music concerts and sponsorships. The research will be available near the end of May or the beginning of June for $2450.
