MOST SUCCESSFUL COMPANIES RESPECT YOUTH

Companies that treat youth as being important customers are seen as the most successful in the marketplace, according to a study done by inmedia Media Analysis and Issues Management Inc. of Ottawa. In addition, young people see themselves as well-rounded consumers who are motivated in making purchasing decisions by social responsibility, fashion, quality and price. Marketers believe price hardly matters to young consumers, citing fashion as the biggest motivation for youthful purchase decisions. This is followed closely by social responsibility and quality. Parents believe that they have the most influence over what their children buy, but youths themselves see their peers as the most influential.
