BC GAS TO COMBAT CO POISONING
By Adnews Staff
Senco Sensor of Vancouver has signed an agreement with BC Gas Inc. to market its carbon monoxide detector under BC's Gas' HomeWorks brand name. The product has been on the market since earlier this year. It will be promoted by BC Gas using print, radio and TV ads created by freelancers. The detector features a digital read-out with an audible alarm and CO level detection down to 20 parts per million. According to the Canada Safety Council, about 200 people die each year due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Another 1,500 are seriously injured. Other products and services marketed under the HomeWorks brand includes a home renovation plan, a finance plan, gas appliance safety program and an earthquake shut off valve.
Separately, BC Gas is holding a review for its account. There are six unnamed agencies vying for the business. A decision is expected within a month.
