COMPAQ MAKES THE CASE FOR ITS LAPTOPS
By Adnews Staff
Compaq Canada of Richmond Hill, Ontario today launched a print campaign in support of a promotion for the Armada 1500, 4000 and 7000 series notebook computers. The campaign, consisting of a full page ad running in the Globe and Mail, Financial Post, Les Affaires, The Toronto Star, Vancouver Sun, Montreal La Presse, Montreal Gazette, Ottawa Citizen, Calgary Herald and Edmonton Journal, is aimed at MIS managers and business end-users. Headlined "There Was Nothing Left To Improve But The Packaging," the ads promote the fact that each Compaq Armada will come with a free Targus carrying case. The campaign comes two days after Compaq's announcement of a round of price cuts ranging from five percent to 18% on the machines in question. Compaq Canada's ad agency is Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of Toronto. PR is handled by Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto.
