MAPLE LEAF LAUNCHES NBA PROMOTION

Maple Leaf Meats of Burlington, Ont. will focus on the tween market in its promotion that will begin next month. Under the promotion, Maple Leaf has joined forces with the National Basketball Association in Canada to launch a series of activities aimed at driving the sales of its wieners, sliced luncheon meats and bologna. Maple Leaf products will feature a series of on-pack NBA team logo stickers and a ballot to win one of three trips to see an NBA game in Chicago. The contest and the stickers will be supported with in-store demonstrations and point-of-sale materials. In addition, retailers will have in-store contests for NBA merchandise. The in-store materials were created by Palmer Jarvis DDB of Vancouver, while the stickers were done by CCL Label of Toronto. PR is being done by Fleishman-Hillard of Toronto.
