MAIL BOXES USES PR TO BOOST PRESENCE
By Adnews Staff
Mail Boxes Etc. Canada of Oakville, Ont. is using a PR agency for the first time to increase the awareness of its small office and home office services. The company recently hired Warwick & Associates of Toronto after a competition with four unnamed agencies. "We were impressed by the insights Warwick demonstrated about our business, their franchise experience and their energy," MBE president Michael Martino says in a release. In addition, the agency was recommended to the company by the Canadian Franchise Association, which Warwick has handled projects for in the past. MBE hasn't done PR since the early 1990s. Advertising for the company is done in-house. MBE is a chain of full-service business resource centres offering 24-hour mail receiving, photocopying, printing, packing and shipping, fax sending and receiving, e-mail access and computer rental. The company opened its first Canadian store in 1991. Since then, the chain has grown to 235 locations.
