J. WALTER THOMPSON CHALLENGES AGENCIES TO A GAME OF 10-PIN

J. Walter Thompson of Toronto is trying to get ad agencies together to participate in a bowl-a-thon in support of the Kids Help Phone. Last year, 10 Toronto ad agencies raised over $17,000 for the youth-oriented help line. This year, JWT is trying to double the number of ad agencies participating the event in an attempt to raise over $25,000 in pledges. The ad agency challenge is part of the Corporate Challenge Bowl-a-thon to raise money for the help line. The event will take place on April 18. The Kids Help line is a national, toll-free, 24-hour counselling service for children. The counsellors at the line answer 1,500 calls each day, dealing with issues such as physical and sexual abuse, suicide, depression, substance abuse and peer pressure.
