TORONTO GETS IN EXTRA TV EACH WEEK
By Adnews Staff
On average, Torontonians watch an extra hour of TV each week compared to viewers in Vancouver, according to Nielsen Media Research. While Toronto viewers are steadily built up throughout the day, Vancouver's audience builds earlier in the day and more rapidly. In that city, there is a steep rate of climb at about 4 p.m. This may be due, in part, to the number of popular sports programs carried live in Vancouver at this time. Those same programs air in Toronto during prime time because of time zone differences. News programs are more popular in Vancouver than in Toronto and Toronto has more prime time viewers than Vancouver.
