AT&T GOES INTO THEATRE BUSINESS

Toronto-based AT&T Canada has expanded its relationship with Livent Inc. of Toronto. The long-distance phone company has been sponsoring Livent's production of Phamtom of the Opera in Toronto for two years. Now Livent's Pantages theatre in Toronto will be named after AT&T. The theatre will be known as the AT&T Centre for the Performing Arts. To recognize the alliance between Rogers Cantel and AT&T, the VIP suite at the Pantages theatre will be know as the Cantel AT&T VIP Suite. In addition, a new theatre will open in Toronto in the year 2000. AT&T has acquired the rights to name the new theatre. It will seat 1,400 people, and be suitable for smaller-size musicals and dramatic plays.
