PHILIPS CONSOLIDATES ADVERTISING

Philips Electronics of Amsterdam has consolidated its worldwide creative and media accounts with D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, both of New York. Philips officials in Canada were unavailable to comment on how the move would affect Canada, but in an earlier interview with Adnews, advertising director Tom Stewart said Philips in Canada began distributing its own consumer electronic products this year, and hasn't finalized any agreements on how advertising will work. DMB&B of Toronto does advertising for personal care and domestic appliances. The international business had previously been divided among various agencies including Fallon McElligott of Minneapolis and McKinney & Silver of Raleigh, North Carolina. DMB&B will continue to handle brands such as Norelco and Regina floor care products.
