OK&D RIDES WITH U.S. AMUSEMENT PARK

OK&D Marketing Communications of Burlington, Ont. will be encouraging Canadians to play in the U.S. beginning this spring. The agency has been given the Martin's Fantasy Island account, an amusement park in Grand Island, New York. OK&D won the business after a review with three U.S. agencies. "We decided to go with OK&D because of their knowledge of the Canadian market and in particular their demonstrated experience with event marketing and tourism," president Martin DiPietro says in a release. OK&D will focus the advertising on Southern Ontario. In the past, Martin's has spent $400,000 on advertising. Martin's plans to increase its attendance this year by 5% over 1997.
