U.S.-based Franklin Electronic Publishers, Inc. brought its handheld PC to the Canadian market this week. Called the REX PC Companion, the mini-computer features a PC-Card with a glare-free LCD screen. Users can plug in the REX into a Type II PC-Card slot on any notebook computer. PC organizer data can be instantly downloaded to the device. Desktop users can download data through the REX Serial docking station connected to a PC serial port. REX holds up to 3,000 items including names, addresses, phone numbers, appointments, notes, memos and to-do items. In Canada, REX is being promoted using PR handled in-house.
