BACTERIA-FIGHTING SOAP MOVES INTO CONSUMER MARKET

GoJo Industries of Akron, Ohio brought its bacteria-free soap to the Canadian consumer market this week. Called Purell Hand Sanitizer, the soap kills almost all of the most common germs such as E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium and Streptococcus pneumoniae in about 15 seconds. It can be used without water. Purell has been used in Canada for 10 years for professional use in the health care and food service industries. It has been available to consumers in the U.S. for about a year and a half. Purell will be promoted in Canada using PR done by Heather Reid & Associates of Toronto. GoJo markets skin care products for the professional market.
