CABLEPULSE24 TO SIGN ON

CITY-TV and Sun Media Corp. will launch their CablePulse24 news channel on March 30, but until then, consumers can view the work in progress. The channel was launched last week, with many of its programs in place, and some still to come in March. For now, cable subscribers will be able to view CITY's Before Breakfast Television, Breakfast Television and newscasts at noon dinnertime and latenight. Other features will be a call-in interview show with CITY-TV's Mark Dailey and Daily Planet, a compendium of local news from across Canada and around the world. It will be broadcast from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. The screen for CablePulse24 will have 10 components on it, offering additional information on things such as time, traffic, weather, sports scores and a stock ticker. The information will run simultaneous to main programming. On March 30, additional programs will be added such as MoneyFlow financial headlines, NewsFlow headlines. Eventually, The Toronto Sun's involvement will be seen with The Sun and Financial Post reporters, columnists and editorialists go on-air with reports and commentary from those newspapers. CITY-TV owns 70.1% of CablePulse24, while Sun Media has a 29.9% stake.
