MOLSON INDY SEES STARS AT THE WHEEL
By Adnews Staff
The Molson Indy in Vancouver on the Labour Day weekend will host the Neon Celebrity Challenge race for the first time in Canada. TV and newspaper advertising that began this week focuses on the race and on a contest offering a trip for two to the last Indy event of the year, the Laguna Seca Race in the U.S. The ads were created by The Pace Group of Vancouver. The celebrity event has also been promoted in ads from Pace for the entire Molson Indy, which began a few months ago. TV stars, as well as motor sport writers and broadcasters, will be behind the wheels of Chrysler Neons for 20-laps in a race that will take place Sept. 3. Drivers in this Indy warm-up event include Crystal Bernard of the sitcom Wings, Perry King of the soap opera Melrose Place, Jim Kenzie of The Toronto Star and Julie Wilkinson of Carguide Magazine.
