COMPANY TO TAKE NEWS NETWORK WEST

The Elevator News Network of Toronto will expand its news and advertising network to Calgary by the summer and to Vancouver by mid-fall. The company has been operating its news network in downtown Toronto elevators for a year. The network consists of 12-inch slimline TV screens in elevators. The top 75% of the screen carries news, sports, entertainment, traffic and stock market reports. The bottom 25% of the screen carries ads. The ads can be static or full-motion. The ad creative can vary from building to building. For example, companies can reference their retail outlet closest to each building or specific messages can be broadcast to specific building tenants. Currently, the elevator TV network broadcasts into 117 elevators in 12 buildings in Toronto. ENN estimates that each TV reaches about 1,000 people per month. The company is also looking into introducing the elevator TV network in the U.S., as well as in Montreal. ENN is a division of Verticore Communications of Toronto.
