RICHTREE PLANS TO EXPAND IN 1998

Toronto-based Richtree Inc. plans to open three new Marche and Marchelino restaurants in Canada and the U.S. by the end of the year. The first outlet will open in Montreal in May and its first U.S. location will open in Boston in July. The third location will be in New York. In addition, Richtree will open seven Take Me! Marche outlets in Loblaws Superstores beginning next month, which will target the home cooking replacement market. Advertising for Richtree is done by Tuplin Communications of Toronto, while Media Profile of Toronto handles PR. Several independent consultants are also used. Marche and Marchelino restaurants cook the food in plain view of the customers at food stations. Richtree has 14 restaurants in Canada. Boston will be its first U.S. location.
