TWO AD VETS TEAM UP TO OPEN NEW AGENCY

Two senior people at Roche Macaulay & Partners Advertising of Toronto will leave their posts to form a new Toronto agency. Associate creative director Dave Crichton and strategic planning director Susan Kim-Kirkland will open the doors of their new agency in early February. The new agency will be called The Crichton Kim-Kirkland Company, and it will focus on strategic creative, bringing in people as needed. The agency may also look for a media partner and a design partner. Crichton decided to make a go of it on his own because he felt "the time was right." "To me, the next logical step was to do my own thing and have the satisfaction of doing it myself." Crichton told Adnews yesterday that he is working on getting new clients, and will make an announcement at the end of the month. Crichton has been at Roche for three years. He has worked on such accounts as the Sony store, IKEA Germany projects, Nature's Solutions, Transad, Mercedes-Benz and Reebok Canada. Kim-Kirkland has been at Roche for one and a half years. She has headed up the Harry Rosen account, and has also worked on the Canadian Business Magazine and The Canadian Egg Marketing Agency accounts.
