CANTEL AT&T SPOT FEATURES DEATH ROW DRAMA

Cantel AT&T of Toronto launched the second spot of its cinema campaign this week in Cineplex Odeon theatres. The new commercial features a story about the last moments of a condemned man facing death in the electric chair, with a final message urging theatre patrons to turn off their cell phones and pagers. The spot begins with the inmate in a jail cell with his lawyer. The warden comes to get him to take him to the electric chair. During the long walk to the chair, the inmate and his lawyer are joking with each other because the governor has been paid off to commute his sentence. A lot of tension is building up as the inmate is strapped in the chair. The phone rings at five seconds to midnight. The warden answers the phone but no one is there. A guard then says that some jerk in the audience has left their cell phone on. The inmate is then electrocuted. The commercial was created by Gee, Jeffery & Partners Advertising of Toronto.
