COMPAQ INTRODUCES NEW NOTEBOOKS, REDESIGNS ANOTHER

Compaq Computer Corp. of Houston, Texas launched two new Armada notebook computers to the worldwide market this week that feature an Intel Corp. 266 MHz Pentium processor, and has redesigned the Armada 4200 series of notebooks. The two new computers are called the Armada 7792DMT and the 7380DMT. The 7792DMT model features a 13.3-inch color display with 1024 X 768 pixels resolution and a five gigabyte hard drive, expandable to 10 gigabytes with a second drive. The 7380DMT is a thin computer that is 1.5-inches thin and weighs 5.6 pounds. It features a 12.1-inch color display with a four gigabyte hard drive, expandable to eight gigabytes with the addition of a second drive. The 4220 series has been redesigned. The 4220T computer now offers a 266 MHz Pentium processor and provides customers with up to 500 hours of standby capability. In addition, the 4220T is thinner and lighter than any other Compaq Armada notebook, weighing 5.2 pounds and measures 1.5-inches thin. The three computers will be promoted using newspaper ads throughout the first quarter of the year. The ads were created by Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of Toronto.
