FUJI OFFERS DIGITAL CAMERA WITH ABILITY TO PREVIEW IMAGES
By Adnews Staff
Japan-based Fuji Photo Film brought its DX-7 digital camera to the North American market last week. The camera features two "windows of opportunity" that allow users to "screen" the image by capturing the subject of the snapshot in the viewfinder and then previewing the imge on the built-in 1.8-inch color LCD screen. Other highlights include one-touch, on-screen programming, which allows users to select the flash mode, set the resolution for normal or fine mode, determine the image sharpness and set the time and date. The Manual Record Mode adjusts brightness, flash intensity and white balance to accommodate varied lighting situations. The Zoom function lets users play back the image and move around in the frame. The camera can be connected to a television to display the images. In Canada, the camera will be promoted using point-of-sale materials and co-op advertising with retailers. Advertising for Fuji in Canada is done by Doner Canada of Toronto.
