SCHOOL BOARDS TO ACCEPT BUS ADS
By Adnews Staff
School boards in Southwestern Ontario have found a way to combat financial cut backs to education. The boards will accept advertising on their school buses beginning next year. School Bus Media Inc. of London, Ont. will be selling the ad space in 2,500 buses, which could generate $15 million for the school boards over the next three years. There will be 5,000 exterior boards available and over 50,000 interior ad panels on the buses. The exterior ads will be four-feet by five-feet in size, while the interior ads will be 26-inches by 14-inches in size. For interior advertising, SBM claims total daily two-way ridership in excess of 350,000 children from kindergarten to grade 13. The school boards involved encompass 16 counties in Southwestern Ontario including Peel, Halton, Lincoln, Niagara South, Waterloo, Wellington, Huron, Middlesex, Elgin, Norfolk, Oxford, Perth, Brant and Haldimand.
