MUTUAL FUND COMPANY PROMOTES SPECIALISTS

TD Asset Management Inc. of Toronto recently moved into TV. The company launched a national TV campaign to tell Canadians its investment specialists are the best source for advice on investing in Mutual Funds. The ad was created by Gee, Jeffery & Partners Advertising of Toronto. Traditionally, the company uses newspaper and magazine ads, but TD Asset Management felt it would gain a more dominant position if it used TV and that it would position the bank more generally, agency president Peter Jeffery says in a release. The 30-second spot shows a "mystery shopper" entering a TD branch pretending he does not know anything about investing in mutual funds. By the end of the spot, an investment specialist has provided advice, and the shopper is impressed. He expresses his gratitude while results of a mystery shopper survey rated TD number one on advice.
