By Adnews Staff
The Oscar Mayer Foods division of Kraft Canada had 3,850 contestants in its national talent show as a result of the promotion's ad campaign. The campaign used TV, radio and newspaper. The TV ads were created by J. Walter Thompson of New York, while its Toronto office localized the ads and did the media buy. The radio and newspaper ads were created by the agency's Toronto office. The ads began in June and the talent show ran across Canada throughout the summer. Children from age three to 12 were asked to sing the Oscar Mayer wiener jingle or bologna song. The winner was chosen in September. The winner of the contest was Nicolas Horlins, 3, of Peterborough, Ont. He won a $500 shopping spree at West Edmonton Mall.
