By Adnews Staff
Scotiabank of Toronto began marketing a group of third-party equity mutual funds this week through its branches and over the telephone. The move is part of the company's Scotia Leaders Program, which offers mutual funds companies such as AFG, Elliott & Page, Mackenzie, Trimark, BPI, Fidelity, Templeton, AIC and C.I. Mutual Funds. The program offers a choice of two portfolios, global equity and Canadian equity. Each portfolio holds five of the traditional mutual funds. In addition, Scotiabank has reduced the minimum investment required for the program from $25,000 to $10,000. Scotiabank will promote the program using newspaper ads and direct mail done by Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto. TV ads will be launched in the new year.
