SHIVASOFT FOCUSES ON CANADIAN MARKET

Shivasoft Inc. of Edmonton is trying to get more Canadian customers and plans to increase its Canadian advertising. The company has opened an office in Mississauga, Ont. to target Eastern Canada and the U.S. Northeast. Currently, Shivasoft has one Canadian customer. The bulk are in the U.S. and some are in Europe. Shivasoft markets Advanced Planning and Scheduling software for manufacturing plants. The company promotes its products in U.S. trade magazines, some of which are distributed in Canada as well. Operations director D'arcy Elliott told Adnews yesterday the company plans to begin advertising in Canadian trade magazines, but didn't say when Shivasoft would begin. Advertising for the company is done in-house. Shivasoft's customer list includes Honda, Caterpillar, Freightliner, Corning, Mercury Marine and Outokumpu of Finland. The company also plans to open offices in Chicago, Columbus, Ohio and Atlanta by the end of the year.
