IBM ENHANCES ENCYCLOPEDIA CD

U.S.-based International Business Machines Corp. released the 1998 edition of its World Book Multimedia Encyclopedia to the North American market earlier this month. New features of the product include increased interactive multimedia features to enrich the program's virtual reality experience, a streamlined design and interface that allows more efficient browsing and instant access to the Internet for users who are hooked up. The Homework Wizards feature assists in the preparation of reports including outlines, schedules, note cards, bibliographies, charts and time lines. In Canada, IBM will promote the World Book using co-op advertising with resellers. In addition, it will have demonstration CDs at retail outlets.
