THAILAND'S AD INDUSTRY TAKES A DOWN TURN

Thailand's advertising may report its first decline in growth this year even though it has had double-digit growth over the past decade. The economy and the government's push for consumers to spend less has caused companies to cut costs, including advertising budgets. J. Walter Thompson's Thailand office says even a 6% growth is optimistic and believes it could even be a minus. But Leo Burnett's Thailand office believes the whole industry will grow between 6% and 8%.
