FUJI ADDS ANOTHER DIGITAL CAMERA TO ITS LINE-UP

Japan-based Fuji Photo Film Co. launched a digital camera in the North American market earlier this month that features a global positioning system showing the longitude and latitude of an image. Called the DS-300, the camera is targeted to the mining, oil and gas industries, as well as government agencies and outdoor enthusiasts. It can take pictures with a maximum resolution of 1,280 X 1,000 pixels and can shoot 4.5 frames-per-second. The DS-300 also has built-in auto-exposure, autofocus and autoflash features. Its 3X optical zoom lens covers lengths equivalent to the 35-105mm range of a 35mm camera zoom lens. In Canada, the DS-300 is being promoted using co-op dealer advertising.
