TV DOCUMENTARY GETS PR PUSH

Linda Shapiro Public Relations of Toronto is launching a PR campaign in Ontario the last week of August for the documentary, A Rough Crossing. The film is about British parents letting strangers, friends and relatives take their children during the Second World War. Eight evacuees, now fifty years older, recall the day they said goodbye to their parents and boarded a ship to head across the Atlantic. Everyone thought the separation would last only a few months but it stretched for five years. Evacuee kids appearing in the film include CBC broadcaster Maggie Morris and Winston Churchill's biographer Martin Gilbert. The movie will be seen in Ontario on CKCO on Sept. 2. Linda Shapiro is also handling PR for the film in Quebec where it premieres Oct. 15 on CFCF television. A campaign will begin the first week of October.
