GCI PUSHES DRUGS FOR HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE
By Adnews Staff
This month the healthcare division of GCI Communications, based in Montreal, picked up two more pieces of business from pharmaceutical firm Hoffmann-La Roche Canada. GCI is now handling public relations for Posicor and Activase, two new drugs which act on blood vessels currently awaiting regulatory clearance. Earlier this year, the managed care division of Hoffmann-La Roche awarded GCI its managed care and stakeholder relations portfolio. "The nature of the services and activities we're conducting on behalf of Roche means that there will be overlapping synergy between product lines and departments, and we're very excited about this," said GCI vice-president of healthcare Mary Anne Pankhurst in a release. Other GCI pharmaceutical clients include Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Pfizer, Glaxo Wellcome BioChem and Pharmascience.
