OTTAWA HOTEL SOLD, UPGRADES BEING MADE

Buena Vista Management Canada Inc. of Aylmer, Quebec has bought Le Chateau Cartier Hotel and Golf Resort in Ottawa. The property features a 129-room hotel, over 16,000 feet of conference facilities, two restaurants, an 18-hole golf course, outdoor tennis, an indoor swimming pool, racquetball and a health and fitness centre. Buena Vista has already begun renovations on the hotel, upgrading the lobby, the health club and the golf course. The company plans to upgrade the equipment and landscaping of the property and enhance the aesthetics of the hotel. Advertising for the hotel is created by MacFarland Marketing of Seattle, while Wilmer Communications of Seattle does PR. Buena Vista will promote Chateau Cartier using print ads in leisure and golf magazines. Buena Vista is the Canadian subsidiary of Florida-based Buena Vista Hospitality Group.
