GOVERNMENT CHOOSES POOLS OF AGENCIES

Five Toronto PR agencies have jumped into the pool of agencies for the Ontario government. They are: The Enterprise Canada Group, Environics Communications, Goodman Communications, Howe & Company and OEB International/Worldcom. The other short listed agencies were: Manifest Communications, McManus Elliott and Temple Scott & Associates, all of Toronto. Nine agencies have been chosen to be in pool of the Ontario government's advertising agencies. They are: Bowen & Binstock Advertising, Cossette Communication-Marketing, Cundari Group Ltd., Gee, Jeffery & Partners Advertising, The Gingko Group, MacPhee Jesson Advertising, Padulo Integrated, Ryan Edwards Communications, all of Toronto, and Thomas Crncich & Partners of London, Ont. The other short listed agencies were: The Communique Group, Montana Steele Advertising, Scott Thornley & Associates, all of Toronto, and Weaver, Tanner & Miller of Kitchener, Ont. The Ontario government decided to use a pool of ad and PR agencies because budgets are getting smaller, and the government wanted to streamline the process for short timelines. In addition, departments can obtain the services of an agency quickly, without going through a costly competition. Larger accounts, such as Foodland Ontario, will continue to use the review process.
