EXPRESSVU TO AIR IN SEPTEMBER
By Adnews Staff
After several false starts ExpressVu Inc. of Mississauga, Ont. will launch its direct-to-home satellite TV service in September and has hired an agency to help promote it. Vickers & Benson Advertising of Toronto won the business late last month after a competition with Leo Burnett Co. of Toronto. "We were impressed with V&B because they addressed our business opportunities, not merely the advertising opportunities," marketing and sales vice-president Michael Skea says in a release. Skea told Adnews there wasn't an incumbent on the business. The Communique Group was hired two years ago when the company was originally going to launch its service, but ExpressVu hasn't used the agency for some time. ExpressVu will offer 100 channels with its service: 70 video and 30 audio. ExpressVu is owned by BCE Inc. and Canadian Satellite Communications, both of Toronto, as well as WIC Western International Communications of Vancouver.
