BOOK ILLUSTRATES GLOBAL ANTI-VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Quon Editions of Edmonton, Alberta has published an 80-page full-color book describing the worldwide outdoor advertising program "Posters Against Violence Worldwide." The 31-country campaign was launched in January to remind people they can do something to stop violence. The book features 63 reproductions of entries received in a design competition for the ads run by Zurich-based Alliance Graphique Internationale and a summary of world reaction to the campaign. Also included are backgrounders on the program objectives, Alliance Graphique and designers who entered work, including the winner, Mervyn Kurlansky, an Englishman living in Denmark. In Canada, the program was endorsed by the Outdoor Advertising Association of Canada whose members donated over $1.3 million in media space.
