QUEBECTEL TAKES ADVERTISERS INTERACTIVE
By Adnews Staff
QuebecTel Group of Rimouski, Quebec will begin offering companies a way to advertise to consumers interactively over the next few weeks. The company will install sixty interactive terminals in public establishments, schools, hotels and shopping malls in Quebec City, Riviere-du-loup and Rimouski. Eventually, the terminals will be across the province. The kiosks, marketed under the name Visioglobe, will provide the public with access to information now available on the Internet with a touch of the screen. Users will be able find weather forecasts for all regions of the province, horoscopes, lottery winning numbers, color maps and tourist information covering transport, lodging, recreation and cultural activities. In the community service component, the terminals can run or consult classified ads. The kiosks can also fax pages and print documents such as rebate coupons. QuebecTel says the kiosks can offer provincewide exposure to small businesses which formerly had no access to major distribution networks. QuebecTel's partners in the project are: RGB Technologies of Rimouski and Absolu Technologies of Sainte-Foy, Quebec.
