MCDONALD'S EXPANDS INTO CLOTHING

McDonald's in Japan is getting into the clothing business. The fast food retailer will begin selling children's casual clothes and accessories at major retailers nationwide beginning in the spring of 1998. The move is expected to generate annual sales of $6.95 million(US) in 1998, $12.17 million in 1999 and $17.4 million in 2000. The McKids line of clothing is currently sold in the U.S. at major retailers such as Wal-Mart.
